I want to start this thread off with my experience in CBT.  And here goes:

I had to remember.  I hate remembering.  I had to go back to what scared me the most and relive that moment.  That was not pleasant.  I hated going back to the sessions because I had to record my rememberance and play it back to myself later and listen to what I was going through - all over again.  I could  not handle it.  I quit.  My CBT lasted no longer than 2 sessions and I quit going.  Sad to say, but this is one obstacle I am yet to climb.

Driving to work this morning, I realized that driving through  tunnel is a trigger for me as well. Not so much the driving in a tunnel, but when there is an accident IN the tunnel and the police are trying to get through and there's no room to get over and once you're over you're stuck and there's no room in front and no room in back and you can't turn around you can't pull out, you can't fix anything you just have to sit there.
Anyone else know what I'm talking about? Bridges seem the same too as long as we keep going I'm fine, but once I'm trapped I'm triggered.
I have a good bridge story to add to this later but right now I want to know how may get this same experience getting stuck on a bridge or in a tunnel? or even a two lane road with ditches on both sides???

Who out there is triggered by fireworks and other New Year's celebration things? Me the fireworks only seem to affect me (or trigger me) when I don't see it coming. When I don't have time to mentally prepare for loud noises it can get as bad as causing flashbacks of moments I don't even remember I had. What about you? is it just fireworks?
